As a business owner, you might put design off until you absolutely need it. We get it! You’re being pulled in so many directions that you’d rather just stick to an easy template than use valuable resources (time, money, and don’t forget mental energy!) to create your own designs.
But those worn-out templates just aren’t cutting it. You’ve got fabulous ideas but nothing you’re creating is really helping those ideas shine. You know you need design help, but you aren’t ready to release total control to a full-time designer.
Does this sound familiar?
If you’re in your own design rut, don’t panic! All hope is not lost. A recent client of ours, Candice Coppola, has been right where you are. With a little help from her friends here at the Design Lab, she was able to finally share her ideas and bring her vision for her business to life.
Candice Coppola is the former owner of Jubilee Events, a wedding planning company. She’s the author of two books and the host of the Power in Purpose Podcast. She helps women build the wedding business of their dreams through group coaching and online resources that help them get on the right track, develop a strategy, and go for it.
Candice built Jubilee Events from the ground up through fierce determination and tons of passion. As her business grew, she knew she wanted to help wedding pros like herself build their businesses from scratch just like she did — only without the guesswork.
Eventually, her business grew enough for her to open multiple offices and move to Barbados and sell Jubilee Events to retire from wedding planning. Today, she coaches other wedding planners and event pros full time.
Despite her business success, Candice still found herself struggling to make her designs unique and efficient. She was tired of hustling day after day just to see someone else using the same templates — isn’t that the woooorst?
Candice told us that she felt like her brand was disjointed. “It had good bones,” she said, “but because my marketing assets were coming from all different places, nothing felt cohesive…my marketing was suffering big time.” The design workload also always fell on her, and she couldn’t quite get her design skills to match what she wanted to bring to life.
That’s when Candice decided she needed design help. After spending years frustrated with the design process, she knew it was time to get design support.
During our first few Design Days with Candice and her team, we got to work:
The biggest thing was making sure that there was more cohesion and consistency between her assets — no more hodge-podging Creative Market templates together! While there’s nothing wrong with using templates, for Candice, they weren’t giving her brand the edge it deserved.
The result from those first few Design Days? Now, Candice has a cohesive presence and assets tailored specifically to her and her business — not just placeholders “that will do for now.” Plus, since we’ve started working together, Candice’s business sales have increased by 248%! BOOM! That’s a win if we’ve ever seen one.
Candice is also an ongoing Design Day client! Based on her needs, we use our Design Days now to help Candice with brand new offers and we get to help her create a super cool client experience gifts for her high-level mastermind, WeddingPro Insiders.
“Nicole took my brand from blah to beautiful! She’s played a huge part in the growth of my business over the last year, and we’ve worked together on so many projects. From branding my new membership, The Planner’s Playbook, to creating launch graphics for every single one of my products…She even made me original website icons and Instagram GIFS!”
This custom design support has helped Candice focus on doing more of what she loves, so she can show up every day as her best self.
If you want to see how custom assets and graphics play out within a solid brand, you can follow along with Candice online or on Instagram, @candice.coppola. Plus, she’s got a ton of great resources, like the Planner’s Playbook, THE secret weapon to planning, designing, and coordinating high-end weddings like a pro! You can also catch her at @theplannersplaybook.
P.S. The Planner’s Playbook relaunches on January 24, 2022!
She also runs WeddingPro Insiders, a 12-month business mastermind for those in the wedding-planning biz who want to level up and build a brand that gets noticed.
P.P.S. – WeddingPro Insiders opens for applications on February 15, 2022.
