From our March Newsletter:
“It’s easy to think about endurance with a negative connotation. Saying that you’re “enduring” probably elicits some mild to moderate alarm in people. Like are you okay? We don’t want to live our lives gritting our teeth – isn’t endurance a mark of things gone wrong? But when I inwardly tell myself that I want to endure the rest of winter – or a particularly hard season of waiting for answers – what I really mean is that I want to endure it well, to carry through it with a thoughtful presence even when I don’t like it. Endurance can mean attuning to, not misery.”
Our March mood board is all about the subtle art of endurance. It plays on themes of quality over quantity, the value of community in longevity, dreaming, finishing well, and mentorship. That headspace lead to a pull towards moody imagery this month! We loved darker, journalistic shots that felt like a moment captured in time. The “unseen” moments involved in enduring well really struck us, as did the the idea of passing along that quality to others. Sprinkled throughout though we found ourselves drawn to pops of color — maybe that internal feeling that spring is just around the corner!
We share all of our reflections, mood boards, inspiration, things we’re loving, resources, and more over at our monthly newsletter. It’s one of the our favorite things we do, and we genuinely think you’ll love it!
And if you’re reading this after the March newsletter has been sent but you’d still like it, just email us at lab@nicoleayang.com. Happy to send along!
Cheers, friends!
