Hear ye, hear ye: Rendezvous Creative launched her first client!!
Okay, so did you know Nicole co-founded another business?! That’s right! It all started a few years ago when Nicole and some other rockstar business owners found themselves constantly working together, playing referral ping pong as they bounced clients back and forth between them for their different services.
It dawned on them that it would be SO much more powerful to create a holistic brand agency where they could combine their skills into one managed, full service offering. This would be an agency that brought all the things it takes to launch a successful business – from planning to design to marketing and more – into one place and one team.
Synergy? Check! Clients would spend way less time team managing and get way more out of their project because the Rendezvous gals were a collaborative one-stop-shop vibing off each other from strategy to development to implementation. No more piecemeal, lack-luster branding, thank you very much.
Tons of hard work, martinis, and a fun Nashville photoshoot later, and Rendezvous opened her doors!
Latasha Doyle (a Rendezvous co-founder) was chomping at the bit for us to open the book so she could snag our first client spot! She’s been the owner and CEO of Uncanny Content for years, but recently had the idea to create a sister brand specifically to help authors market their books.
Guys, this was a fun one!! We are uber proud to introduce Rendezvous Creative’s first official client, Uncanny Unedited, launched just last month!!
It all starts with Rendezvous’ signature service, The Rendezvous Roadmap. This is where the magic happens, as we take our clients through a seamless “roadmap” to brand success, mapping out their brand development from beginning to end with the expertise and services of each of the stellar gals on the Rendezvous team.
Nicole is the lead brand and graphic designer. Latasha handles copy, content, and marketing. And Megan is all about strategy and coaching. Got it? Great.
First up for Uncanny Unedited, we did a brand audit to nail down their offers. Next, we dug deep on their mission, vision, and values.
This brand really turns on the belief that authorship is for everyone – not just the “chosen ones” who fit the mold of traditional publishing houses. They are accessible experts. And playing off of their sister brand, Uncanny Content, there is a strong sense of sass and playfulness. They are for the free-spirit author with a story to tell, who loves writing . . . just not marketing. And wants to leave the world of said marketing up to experts who get them.
Put it all together, and here’s what we came up with!
Their core values:
Co-creation, Inclusivity, Playfulness, Subversion, Resourcefulness
Their five brand keywords:
Unbuttoned, Accessible, Boundless, Frisky, Relief
Their client persona:
The colleagues at their 9-to-5 may not realize it, but they’ve got an entire universe of magical, sexy, and enthralling stories in their heads. They finally sat down to put those stories on paper a few years ago and now they can’t help but dream about something else: What it would be like to publish a best-seller — or even a BookTok sensation. They want to become the creator of a universe that readers are clamoring to immerse themselves in — and they want an outlet for all the magic brewing just under the surface. They know there’s a community of rabid readers out there, ready to dive into a whole new world (or the latest spin on their favorite trope). But they don’t know where to start, and every “option” out there feels outdated, expensive, and formulaic. Isn’t there a way to market their books and their brand that feels EXCITING and FUN? One that gives everyone a happy ending?
Next up on the Roadmap, the brand design!! Our favorite part, clearly.
Our mood board showed off the funky, unbounded, and “out-loud” vibes of the brand, and helped direct our vision as we created the color palette, logo, type styles, illustrations, and more. As a sister brand to Uncanny Content, the Unedited color palette needed to be linked but distinct, with a good dose of fantasy to boot.
One of the client’s favorite parts of the design? Oh, just these sassy fantasy/alien/romance icons and illustrations we created, no big deal.
Last up in the design leg of the roadmap was creating a one-of-a-kind website that was bold, and oh-so-fun. Starting with site mapping and mockups, Nicole then worked with the other members of the Rendezvous team to implement the final site in Showit.
Nicole also created a lead magnet, social templates, newsletter templates, and launch graphics to seriously start our bookish, fiendish clients out on the right…chapter.
All the while, the rest of the Rendezvous team was hard at work on site copy (such a huge job!), offer creation, and the millions of tiny details that go into building and launching a new brand.
The final results?
An out of this world brand and a smooth, painfree launch into the world that went off without a hitch. We introduce, Uncanny Unedited! We can’t wait to see all the amazing authors this brand serves (and to read all their books!).
We LOVE how this all came together and couldn’t be more proud to be part of the Rendezvous team who brought this to life. Are you looking for full service branding like this?? Or know somehow who is?
Give us a holler! We’d love to chat anytime.
Till next time, friends!
