You’ve got brand standards that stun, you’ve got a few graphic design templates to help you create social content, and you’ve got a few files for logos and icons. You know a thing or two about using design software but have no idea how to make it all worth the high-ticket investment in your branding.
Awesome. Now what? It might be time to call in the design pros.
Before you clutch your pearls and run away because “You can do it yourself,” hear us out! You’re not alone. Many creative business owners shy away from enlisting design help because they know they have the grit and the creative eye to get it done. But when you’re busy trying to run a biz, sometimes your brand design (and consistency) becomes an afterthought.
You know you’re struggling to show up online as the most confident version of yourself because design is sitting on a shelf waiting to be created, or because — quite frankly — the designs you’ve created from your brand started feel all over the place and you’re *eek* kind of embarrassed.
You can’t do it all, so leave the design work to a professional (like us).
Stop struggling to be the CEO and art director. You may just find it to be the thing your business needs to take off. At least, that’s what happened to Becca, owner of Happy Ever Crafter.
Becca is a super talented (and funny) calligrapher who can make anything look amazing with a couple of strokes of her pen.
After learning that her creative outlet was more than just a hobby, she started Happy Ever Crafter — and she left her corporate job to teach modern calligraphy full-time.
Since then, she’s had over 100,000 students and has traveled to over 16 countries to teach people her amazing skills (and show off her impressive dad jokes).
Being a creative herself, Becca knew the effort that good design — and a good brand — demands. She already had an established brand and a clear vision for where she wanted her business to go but was tired of trying to justify the time and money it took to DIY her designs.
“I was tired of branding and graphic design being an afterthought, and I was tired of hodge-podging things together on my own!” she said. She was crafting everything on her own but was struggling to fit everything together and make one cohesive brand.
“Everything was sorta all over the place,” Becca admitted. “I never saved things properly, and any time I’d need to update something I’d have to either remake it altogether or work off of my already messy original work. It also took me a MILLION times longer to finish projects.”
That’s when Becca decided it was time for help.
Becca needed someone to step up and take her creative ideas and turn them into branded icons, logos, course materials, and more. She needed design support that would show off her ability to create Pinterest-worthy hand lettering and calligraphy and how she could teach her students to do the same.
During our Design Days, we got to work creating:
The main goal was to ensure brand consistency with that unmistakable Happy Ever Crafter design, so everything would be easy to maintain and edit where needed.
If you’re worried about hiring a pro, Becca gets it. But there’s one thing you for sure get back when you hire a designer: Time. “I hadn’t considered that Nicole does it 100000% faster and better! The time I’ve saved has freed me up to use my expertise in ways that bring in more money anyway…everything is so much more organized, and I know I can easily make edits or request edits from Nicole and turn them around faster.”
Not only can all of that equal more time in your calendar, but it can mean more money in your pocket, more people impacted, and more momentum with your ideas.
Becca wasn’t the only one gushing over the brand refresh, “My students have also LOVED the refresh, and I get far fewer emails that start with “Hey, I found a mistake in the workbook…” or similar!”
She’s one of the most successful calligraphy brands, and with 273K subscribers, we’re happy to help her and her students learn more effectively — and to maintain the brand standards that help Happily Ever Crafter show up internationally.
If you want to see Becca’s crafty and playful brand in action, you can follow along online, or on Instagram, @thehappyevercrafter. She’s also got tons of great FREE resources like her calligraphy course — Show Me Your Drills — where you can learn the basics of modern calligraphy for free!
