It’s such a great feeling to turn a corner, see the finish line, meet a goal, be in a contented place of less, not feel anxiety over something anymore, resolve a fight, have something taken off your plate. I’m sure you have felt all of these things at various times.
Seasons of thriving are a delight.
But…(no, not a but!). But there is a but.
This month in our newsletter we’re contemplating/unpacking/thinking a lot about the paradox of joy and suffering co-existing. Phew, I know, that’s a big one. It seems that whenever you are in one season or the other, it’s hard to really feel like the other can exist . . . and yet it most definitely does. When I’m sitting in the cool shade of our front-yard oak tree listening to the peaceful cicadas while my kids run around and I feel content and happy? How can the Texas floods or injustices or wars be going on?
There’s no bow to tie on this one, just thoughts and a small sliver of our hearts. If you’d like to read the rest, you can sign up for our monthly newsletter above. We like to share an essay on what we’ve been reflecting on, plus fun, real life things we’ve been loving, and design inspo, tips, tricks, and behind the scenes peeks at what we’ve been working on.
Thanks again for being here, friend! Hope you enjoy this read. Happy July!
