How to Break Up Big Blocks of Text, Part 3

Another common example of breaking up text is none other than a simple resume! Dates, descriptions, subheadings! Resumes have it all! Here are some tips to help you create a beautiful and well-organized resume.
- Try increasing your margins and the padding between the two columns. Sometimes white space works magic.
- There’s a lot of black in this example, which can make things look heavier than necessary. Try the middle line in teal and even the titles in teal. It’ll lighten things up and make the actual experience stand out.
- You could also even try a three column layout, giving the activities summary more space.
- My general rule is to keep body text to 10 points. Anything larger looks juvenile when it’s printed. Try knocking the font size down a couple points and see if it’s still legible. It’ll give you more room to work with!
